Trivial Trivia

While taking a break from reading this afternoon, I came across a website that allegedly tells you how many people in the U.S. have the same name as you. So, I tried it. Here are the results:

Input: David Wiens

Output:

HowManyOfMe.com
Logo There are:
36

How many have your name?

Re: Facelift

It turns out that some people couldn’t read our blog when we switched to a double sidebar look. So we’ve changed it back to the old look. Let us know if you’re having viewing problems…

Lots o’ News

I know that I haven’t posted in a while, but I have been up to alot! I got work authorization and started looking for jobs. I filled out several applications (a flower shop, Starbucks, Sweetwaters coffee shop, Panera Bread, Urban Outfitters and Whole Foods) Well, on Sunday October 1st I had my training at Ten Thousand Villages and Dave and I went in to town early and had coffee at Starbucks. I handed my application to Starbucks on Monday. A few minutes after talking to the manager she asked if I would like to come in for an interview the next week. So at my interview, which went really well, the two managers said they needed to talk for 2 minutes and when they came back to the table they offered me the job! I start tomorrow at 10am. I was also able to apply for a social security number and received it in the mail a few days ago. Things are falling into place nicely.

I also had a doctors appointment on Friday and I heard the heart beat of our little “jumping bean”. Friday was also an exciting day because Rachel Maria entered the ever growing Wiens Clan! Welcome to the world sweety! Isn’t she the cutest? Both Karen and baby are doing well. Congratulations!

Also several of my friends are having babies this week/month. I hope y’all are doing well. Looking forward to hearing the arrival news!

Fall Break

Contrary to the impression left by our lack of posting, new things have happened over the past 3 weeks–we’ve just been too lazy to write about them. But here’s a brief report.

Last weekend we went to St. Catharines for 4 days. I had this past Mon. and Tues. off, so we made a long weekend of it. We had a good time visiting family and friends. on Fri. night, we went to the casino with Jeff and Becky and Dan and Shanta. I won $40 playing poker, so I felt good about that. Saturday, Dad and I went to a bar to watch the Aggies upset #19 Missouri (felt very good about that!). We also went to see my brother Jon’s hockey game on Sat. night. Sunday we had dinner with Dad and Les, and Mon. we had dinner with my family to celebrate Karen’s birthday.

We actually thought that Karen might have her baby while we were home, but, alas, she didn’t. (I think she was induced today…) So we’ll have to wait until Christmas to see her.

Things are heating up at school these days. I have a presentation and paper due next week, so I better get back to working on that…
